Twenty-one Orlando restaurants and bars on this page have closed, and they are all still being recommended somewhere. We found them while building this site, because you cannot publish a city guide without checking whether the places in it are open.
Most guides quietly drop a closed restaurant and move on. We publish the closure instead. Planning an evening around a place you have been looking forward to, and finding a dark window, is a specific kind of disappointment, and it usually happens because nobody updated a list.
The one that proves the point
Little Saigon, 1106 E Colonial Dr, closed on 28 December 2025 after nearly forty years. Vu Nguyen and Mai Huynh opened it in 1987 and retired. Its website is still live, still carrying machine-readable restaurant data and daily opening hours. A person who calls gets nothing. A search engine or an AI assistant reads an open Vietnamese restaurant on Colonial Drive. Mills Night Market is taking the space.
Mills 50 and the east side
Plantees, 1030 N Mills Ave, served its final weekend 17 to 19 July 2026. The brand continues in Arizona. Orlando vegan roundups from later that year still list it.
Orlando Meats left Ivanhoe Village for Winter Park in 2020 and closed in 2022. The old Virginia Drive space is The Rev now.
Better Than Sex, the Ivanhoe Village dessert bar, closed in summer 2026 after more than ten years. Arden, the aperitif and wine bar a few doors away, closed in 2026 after one year.
Winter Park
Luma on Park, 290 S Park Ave, closed in September 2020 after fifteen years in a rent dispute during the pandemic. The space became Ava MediterrAegean.
Cocina 214, 151 E Welbourne Ave, served its last meal on 29 May 2026 after fifteen years when its lease ended and the building sold. Its website now returns a 404 on every page.
Cafe de France closed in May 2022 when its owners retired. It had been on Park Avenue since July 1982.
The Coop, John Rivers' Southern restaurant at 610 W Morse Blvd, closed in July 2023 over rising rent.
Ethos Vegan Kitchen, 601 S New York Ave, closed in early September 2024 after seventeen years when it did not renew its lease. Its old web address now serves Arabic-language casino spam behind the restaurant's old navigation labels, which is a particularly grim way for a seventeen-year-old vegan kitchen to end up. Never follow that link.
Downtown and Thornton Park
Soco closed on 26 May 2025, with the farewell posted on its own site. Osteria Ester is in that room at 629 E Central Blvd now, which is a happier ending than most entries here get.
Graffiti Junktion in Thornton Park closed after fifteen years, and June opened in the space.
Dexter's of Thornton Park closed abruptly after a sale. Tanqueray's, the basement dive in the Metcalf Building at 100 S Orange Ave, closed at the end of April 2026 and the space went on the market. Artisan's Table on Church Street is gone, and its old web address now redirects to an Indonesian gambling site. Independent Bar left 70 N Orange Ave; the brand continues as Barbarella, Saturdays only, at a different address entirely.
Parliament House closed in 2020. A new downtown space at 29 S Orange Ave has been planned since, and as of mid-2026 it had not opened.
College Park and around
College Park Cafe, 2304 Edgewater Dr, billed as Orlando's oldest diner, closed permanently in 2025. Alma Argentina is taking the building.
K Restaurant, 1710 Edgewater Dr, closed on 18 January 2020 and still turns up in Edgewater Drive roundups six years later. Jade Sushi & New Asian at 2425 Edgewater closed on 5 November 2022 when its lease was not renewed; The Current Seafood Counter took the space.
Eatonville
DaJen Eats closed in June 2024 after seven years. Chef Jenn Ross ran the only vegan Jamaican cafe in the area, and it would have been this site's Eatonville, Black-owned and women-owned pick all at once. Its old domain now serves gambling spam, so do not go looking for it.
Where the good ones went
Three of these rooms are still worth walking into under a different name. Soco became Osteria Ester, Graffiti Junktion became June, and the old Luma space became Ava MediterrAegean. A closure is not always a loss of a room, only of a name.
What is not on this page
Several Orlando venues look closed and are not listed here, because the only evidence was a Yelp banner or a dead domain. That is not our standard. They are not listed as open either. If you know one way or the other, tell us and we will check it properly.
And if something here is wrong, or your restaurant is very much open, tell us and we will correct it the same day, free.
